Saxophone and Woodwinds

Multi-instrumental woodwind and Bay Area musician, Grant Leimbach is the woodwind professor at Las Positas College in Livermore, CA and the saxophone professor at Chabot College in Hayward, CA.

A graduate of CSU Hayward/East Bay, he received a Bachelor's and Master's degrees in saxophone performance under the tutelage of Dann Zinn.

In addition, Mr. Leimbach has studied with other Bay Area pedagogues such as Michelle Caimotto on flute, Rory Snyder on Sax and Flute, and Steve Sage.

Grant Leimbach currently maintains a teaching studio with over 30 private woodwind students in Lafayette and San Ramon.  Students have gone on to earn collegiate music scholarships, score 3 or higher on the AP Music Theory exam, and accepted into the California Band Director Association (CBDA) Allstate honor bands.

He is an active woodwind performer and educator on the following instruments:

  • Flute, piccolo and alto flute

  • Clarinet and bass clarinet

  • Alto, tenor, baritone and soprano saxophones

Grant Leimbach performs professionally as well as guest lectures at the college-level on the topics of jazz history and music business. He is an in-demand player across the San Francisco Bay Area.
